The Billings Baseball School Staff
Gerry Billings ~ Plymouth State '8The owner and lead instructor for the BBS is Gerry Billings. Billings played four years of Collegiate Baseball at Plymouth State College during the late '70s. A three-year starter, Billings was a middle-infielder and lead-off hitter. After college, Billings coached High School Baseball for 33 years. One year at Morse High School in Bath, ME. Nine years at Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, ME, and ten years at Thornton Academy in Saco, ME. Billings also coached 13 seasons of American Legion Baseball and was involved with Cal Ripken Baseball and Babe Ruth Baseball coaching All-Star teams at both levels. Billings started his coaching career at the age of 14 coaching Jr. Baseball for the Brunswick Recreation Department while in high school. In college, Billings ran the program for two summers. Billings has two sons who played high school baseball for the Cheverus Stags. He is married to Diane Morgan Billings and lives in the North Deering neighborhood of Portland.
Kyle Bishop ~ Husson '15
Kyle is the current Head Coach at Hall-Dale High School in Farmingdale, ME. Kyle was an outfielder for the Eagles and a three-year starter for the Bangor School. Kyle is a Physical Education teacher at Hall-Dale Elementary School in Hallowell, ME. Kyle played High School Baseball at Waterville HS where he was a member of two State Championship teams. Kyle comes from an Education family, his Dad is a retired teacher and current Head Football Coach at Mattanawcook HS. His Mom is an Early Childhood educator in the Winslow School system. His older brother is a Social Studies teacher in Wiscasset.
